About

I didn't grow up in Tampa.
I chose it.

Which is a small thing, except that it means I have been through more or less exactly what a lot of my clients are going through.

Ruairi McGuire, RE/MAX Collective

I was born in the UAE and grew up in Scotland. In 2015 I moved to the United States to attend Mercyhurst University in Pennsylvania, where I played college soccer and completed my bachelor's degree. I later earned my MBA.

After spending years visiting Florida, I eventually made the move to Tampa myself.

I mention the moving part not because it makes me an expert in anything, but because it is genuinely relevant to the work. I remember what it is like to try to understand somewhere before you know which questions you are supposed to be asking — when every source you find is either selling you something or assuming knowledge you do not have yet. That is the position a lot of people are in when they first contact me.

The soccer and the MBA are context rather than credentials. They are not why you would hire an estate agent. What they probably do explain is a reasonable tolerance for preparation and for being told something I did not want to hear.

Today I work with buyers and sellers across Greater Tampa Bay through RE/MAX Collective.

01How I work

Four things, consistently.

  1. Communicate properly

You should not have to chase me for an answer, and if I don't have one yet I'll tell you that rather than going quiet.

  2. Do the homework

Flood zone, insurance, association documents, comparable sales. Before you are committed, not after.

  3. Give an honest opinion

Including when I don't think a property or a decision makes sense. That is the part that's actually worth something.

  4. Don't push

If the timing is wrong, waiting is a legitimate answer. I would rather be useful now and work with you later.

02Get in touch

Ask me a question.

About a property, an area, the process, or whether now is even the right time. You don't need to be ready to do anything.
